About
Who I Am
I’m Kristin Hunter-Rutledge, a therapist with a unique blend of clinical expertise, advanced training, and over 15 years of leadership experience. My journey from a successful leadership career to the deeply personal work of being a therapist taught me that true transformation happens when you align your life with your purpose.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska Omaha and a Master’s in Leadership from Drake University. I have also passed the National Counselor Exam (NCE), which was recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
My Approach
At InnerVision, my approach goes beyond traditional “talk” therapy. I combine evidence-based modalities like Attachment-Focused Trauma Therapy (AFTT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Polyvagal Theory to create deeply personalized sessions. These tools allow us to work not just on the surface, but to address the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and body—helping you uncover the “why” behind your struggles and chart a path toward meaningful change.
Through compassionate care and a commitment to your growth, I’m here to guide you through life’s challenges—whether it’s navigating the weight of past experiences, quieting the inner critic, or creating balance in your relationships. Together, we’ll focus on building the tools and understanding you need to move forward with confidence and clarity.

Why I’m Passionate
Leaving a successful leadership career—including roles as a nonprofit COO and CEO—to pursue my passion for mental health taught me one powerful lesson: the most profound transformations come from aligning your life with your purpose. I’ve experienced how self-doubt, life’s demands, and past wounds can obscure potential, and I’ve seen the life-changing impact of reclaiming that potential.
At InnerVision, I’m here to guide you toward rediscovering your strength and creating a life that feels whole, balanced, and meaningful.
